Shatter me main characters11/7/2023 ![]() ![]() They ride in a huge tank until they reach the destination, a huge building, a political headquarters in disguise. Juliette refuses to talk to him or even look at him. He puts Adam in charge of her, and directs him to bring her to a certain destination. It didn't end up like a proposition, though, because Warner forced her to anyways. In return he would let her out of the asylum. ![]() Warner announces that he has a proposition for her- he wants to use Juliette and her special powers to torture prisoners for information. Juliette describes him to have striking looks but she hates him because of his evil smile. One of the major characters, leader of the sector 45, Warner, is introduced. Juliette feels very hurt and betrayed, because she thought that she was close to Adam but learns that he was sent into her cell to spy on her for the government, the Reestablishment. ![]() She learns the horrifying truth that Adam is a soldier working for the Reestablishment when she sees a soldier with the exact same tattoos as Adam. She comes to the conclusion that the reason they put Adam in her cell was because they planned on killing her.įirst Peak: Juliette remains to be calm, but inside there are a lot of thoughts going on. One day, soldiers barge into their cell unexpectedly and point their guns at Juliette. As two weeks go by, the two start to get closer with each other and Juliette shows him the ways of the asylum, like how to get to the shower room and when to eat the food that is given to them in the asylum. She later gives in and deals with the fact that Adam was a boy in her class in her old school years that she had always admired. Adam starts reminding her of someone she once knew, but she convinces herself that it can't be him. Adam Kent, her new cellmate tries to be friendly with her, but Juliette refuses to tell him anything about herself for the first few days. After being alone in a small cell with no one to talk to expect the small pages of her notebook, Juliette is told that she will be getting a "cellmate", who arrives the next morning to Juliette's surprise. As she writes in the small notebook, which is the only thing she has with her in the cell, you can tell that she has gone partly insane due to the fact that she had not had human contact in so long, and also to the guilt that she feels for taking a person's life. Day to day at the asylum, Juliette tries to convince herself that she isn't a bad person, that she isn't and monster, and that she didn't mean for any of this to happen. Juliette recalls herself being carried away and driven away in a strange car for hours to reach the asylum, with her parents never bothering to say goodbye. Juliette later mentions that the reason she had been locked up was because she had accidentally killed a young boy at the supermarket while trying to help him, 3 years before, and since then has been to many therapists. The story starts off as the narrator Juliette Ferrars writes in a small notebook that she has been locked up in an insane asylum cell for 264 days, because she cannot properly control her power and has become a danger to society. Yet with time, the two start to talk, and Juliette teaches Adam how to survive in the asylum, while Adam, seeing that Juliette is cold, gives her his blanket.The book Shatter Me is about a 17 year old girl named Juliette, the main character, who has the frightening power to kill or seriously harm people with her touch. At first, she avoids talking to him, and Adam behaves aggressively, taking away Juliette’s blanket and pillow. Juliette has a feeling that she had seen him somewhere before by she can’t remember exactly when and where it happened. She is stunned and confused when she realizes that her cellmate is a boy named Adam and he is of the same age as her. One day Juliette learns that she will have a cellmate. The totalitarian government that has taken over the country, The Reestablishment, put Juliette in an asylum because it wants to use her lethal touch as a weapon in the fight against the underground forces. After she accidentally killed a little boy, Juliette has been kept in various detention centers, and although she is not dangerous for the society, she has been isolated for so long she begins to doubt her sanity. Shatter Me opens with Juliette Ferrars, a 17-year-old-girl, being locked in a small cell of an asylum because of her lethal touch. ![]()
